TUESDAY REVIEWDAY: Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 BB Créme Review

I love using BB creams on a daily basis. They are indeed multi-functional and handy, they also have the tendency to give you a little coverage but with a little dewy effect that makes your skin appear healthy and glowing.
My mom loves Olay products. When a saleslady introduced the Olay BB cream to her, she bought it. She knows that I love using BB creams as well, so I borrowed the BB cream and reviewed the product myself.
BB stands for “Blemish Balm.” A German dermatologist during the 1960’s was the first to invent such product and intended to use it to protect the patient’s skin after a facial treatments or surgery. Now, there are many brands that sell BB creams with different formulations.
The main purpose of a BB cream is to provide coverage while protecting the skin. This Olay BB cream claims to have 7-in-1 components. I hope that it’s true to what it said.
Let’s get to the details of the product.

The consistency is very creamy and blendable. A little goes a long way.
It has a faint smell that’s similar to a typical Olay product.
The product looks slightly darker on my skin, but it blended like water on my skin. The coverage is very sheer.

Bare Face
With BB cream.
My face looks slightly the same with the BB cream. It has a very light or sheer coverage. I set the BB cream with a loose powder (Nichido Final Powder.)
Note: Please excuse the bad lighting which made my skin tone appear different.

Set with powder.
My face looks mattified, yet I can still see some skin imperfection like the freckles. The BB cream didn’t cover my face that much.

4 hours later.
4 hours later, my skin feels and looks the same. I didn’t sweat much yet since the weather is quite cool today.

7 hours later.
7 hours later. My t-zone area is quite oily, but I know the BB cream is still on my face. The camera can’t really capture what I can see, but skin imperfections are pretty much present.
The BB cream didn’t really do much for me. It lacks coverage, but it moisturized my face for the whole day. It didn’t let me produce much oil as well.

I would rate the product 4/10 since the coverage is very significant for me. I prefer a BB cream with more coverage.
I like the semi-matte finish it gave me, but I would still recommend setting it with powder. I do appreciate some of the good ingredients it contains, but it’s slightly expensive for me.
Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 BB Créme is available at Watsons, SM and Robinsons Department stores nationwide, and retails at 700+ pesos.
