I don’t consider this pressed powder as a powder foundation since it’s not labeled that way, and powder foundation has a thicker and heavier coverage. I am hyped since it is quite cheap, and feels lightweight.

I like the packaging. It’s in a simple clear plastic. It’s similar to Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder, but this one’s lid is attached to its body. I find it more convenient since I can easily misplace the lid. Also, the product did not have any applicator. It’s fine for me since I prefer using a brush.
I can't bring this around and use it to retouch my makeup, though, because I don't want to bring my makeup brush around.

The powder suits my skin tone well, but it doesn’t have much coverage. With its smooth application, I assume that this will mattify my face. Also, it has a very mild scent of a baby powder. I like the scent of this compared to the Maybelline Clear Smooth Pressed Powder.

Note: I will not be applying any foundation. I will apply the powder after the moisturizer. It’s my routine when I’m in a hurry.

3 hours later, my cheek area is still matte on both sides. My forehead on the right (pressed powder side) felt more matte. However, the pressed powder on my under eye somehow faded. The loose powder on my under eye appears more matte than the pressed powder. But, I noticed the loose powder faded on the outer corner of my eye.
Note: My outer corner is the greasiest part of my eye. So, I’m really confused. Maybe the loose powder stayed on my under eye longer because I applied more powder there.
I did not document this since it looks the same.
6 hours later, my face feels the same. My nose and forehead are equally oily on both sides. When I wiped my face on the towel, I saw some of the product that transferred, and both sides looked the same.
The performance of both is comparable. The only difference is Nichido Final Powder has more products and it’s in a form of loose powder. I prefer the pressed powder since it is more compact, smells nicer, and will appear less powdery or cakey when applied.
Overall, I like it. I would rate it 8/10.
Essence Mattifying Compact Powder is available at Essence counters at local drugstores or department stores nationwide. It retails at 249 pesos.
