Eyebrow gels are one of the trends nowadays. I like it when my eyebrows are on fleek for the entire day. Eyebrow gels are perfect for maintaining a perfect pair of brows without it smudging or fading easily because who doesn't want to have those sharp and clean brows?
I do not personally have well-groomed brows. I have sparse, very light, and uneven brows. I need to fill in my brows every day, even if when I’m in a hurry. I typically use the Etude House angled automatic eyebrow pencil, and it’s my go-to product, especially on a typical day.
I need to find out how well the Essence Eyebrow Gel will work for me. I have to be honest, this eyebrow gel looks promising even if I’ve read a bad review on this. When my friend gave it to me, I knew it was a great product, but I had to test it out on my own brows.
The product is in a small glass pot, with a plain twistable lid.

I used this slanted eyebrow brush from Marrionaud to apply the product.

It does not look very pigmented like high-end eyebrow gels, but its pigment is buildable. When I rubbed my finger on that area, it faded. It did not smudge, which is good.

Note: I only applied a little since I wanted to achieve a natural look as if I’m not putting any makeup on. Also, because it’s a school day.
It was 6 am when I did my makeup, and it took me almost 3 minutes to do both brows. Typically, I’d finish doing my brows in 3-5 minutes, since I usually make mistakes.
I know it looks too light, but it's the pigment I got with a few swipes. I had to get more to make it darker, but I was in a hurry. (and yet I still have time to take a picture of it.)
Note: I did not use a concealer to clean up the edges of my brows to not affect its lasting power. (I think it’s obvious anyway)

4 hours later, it did not fade yet. I like how natural yet strong it looks in person. I focused the camera on my eyebrows, so the eyebrow hairs look obvious. (I haven't plucked or threaded my eyebrows yet, btw.)

I was in class, so I couldn’t take a picture for “8 hours later”, but this photo was taken when I got home. Take note that I only commuted, so imagine the sweat and oils on my face. My face easily produces oil when there’s sweat. I also patted my handkerchief on my forehead since I was sweating.
Despite the sweat, the eyebrow gel stayed on. It might have faded (a little) but the product is still very visible. Unlike other eyebrow product, this one will stay; it might fade, but it won’t smudge.
I also wanted to test what it would look like when I used it on top of a pencil.

I used my Etude House slanted automatic eyebrow pencil in 01. I only filled in a little. I typically do my eyebrows this way if I’m in a hurry or if I don’t want neat brows that day.

As you can see, my eyebrows became darker on the ends. It became slightly bolder but more defined. This lasted until the end of the day. Topping it with some brow powder and eyebrow gel will definitely make it last longer, and make it appear bolder.
I don't know why, but it looks darker and more obvious in person. Maybe it's just my camera.
Overall, I am impressed with it. It might fade, but I love the fact that it does not easily smudge like normal wax-based eyebrow pencils, but do not expect it to be a dupe for high-end products like Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade.
I’d rate it 7/10. It’s available on all Essence counters on department stores nationwide. It retails Php 299.
