MONTHLY FAVORITES: May, 2016

Finals week is finally over! Due to the calendar shift, we have just finished the school year, which means May is a very hectic time for us. Consider that stress with a very hot weather, and I'm bound to get crazy!

But did you know that this month, I've realized a lot of things? Even new and amazing products which I am going to mention below.

1. Purifying Dead Sea Mud Mask / Cosbio Collagen Pearl Sheet Mask from Daiso
I make sure that at least once a week, I apply this product all over my face and let it sit for at least 10-15 minutes, then wash it off. I love using this because it relaxes my skin and cleanses it. The mud property acts like a magnet that lifts the dirt off the face. It also contains papaya ingredient which claims to soothe the skin. After using this for the past months, I find that using this more often prevents me from break-outs, which is a huge plus point.
I added the sheet mask from Daiso because it's the cheapest face mask I know and it's really great and moisturizes my skin well. It contains amazing ingredients which are perfect for my tired skin craving for health. The only problem is the lip area is too small. I have thick and plump lips, which is just a minor problem.

2. Johnson's Baby Cooling Powder
Due to the very hot and humid weather, I find myself applying baby powder all the time to prevent that icky feeling. After I apply my daily lotion with SPF, I apply this on top. Also, this is good for my back since I sweat a lot. Did you know I set my makeup with this powder as well? It is very fine and lasts long on my skin! It works amazingly, and it's inexpensive as well. I'm going to find an alternative to this since I recently found out that Johnson & Johnson does tests on animals. I aim to replace all my products to cruelty-free ones after I'm finished with them. Plus, some cruelty-free ones are way cheaper.

3. The Face Shop ECO Natural Sun Super Perfect Sun Cream SPF 50
SPF is very important, and you know it. That is why I purchased this face cream, with SPF 50+ PA+++! I love that it's not very sticky or tacky on application and it has a very pleasant smell. It gives my skin enough moisture. If I don’t put a setting powder on top, my skin would look dewy. Anyway, after this step, I usually apply the product below, then concealer then baby powder on top; it could last all day. A high SPF is important since the weather is incredibly hot, and UV levels during the summer are already extreme. Also, heat stroke is prominent, so do apply some sunscreen!

4. The Face Shop Jeju Aloe 99%
I apply this after my day cream, since it works well as a primer, then layer the makeup on top. It's also inexpensive which costs 195 pesos. It is soothing, which also makes makeup last longer (surprisingly) and it is very good for your skin. It is made in Korea, and contains ingredients that soothe the skin after it has been damaged by the sun. It also minimizes acne production. Definitely a must-have.

5. EOS Hand Lotion

I got this hand lotion from a friend and I am obsessed with how great it smells. It smells like cucumber, which is great for relaxation. Also, it leaves my skin soft and supple without that annoying sticky lotion feeling. I’m trying not to use too much of it, so I only use it on my hand and elbows at times. It hydrates my skin quickly and stays there. Sometimes, some lotions have this annoying feeling like as if there’s a thick layer of lotion on your hand. This hand lotion does not have that sensation, that’s why I love using it on a daily basis.
